I have had my Biz emails down 3 weeks from their upgrade.

I have had my Biz emails down 3 weeks from their upgrade. And there is no way to reach management. I have talked to 17 Support Mocking-birds who all have said they found the error & it will work in 2 hours. It has not! A Supervisor was to call me back twice & no call. I hate being lied to and my emails are the way we make money. I have been with them 18 years and this is a terrible way to support long time customers! I wonder if I can sue them if I lose my Biz over this night-mare?

Register.com Sucks!

I will be jumping ship from register.com when my renewal expires. For personal reasons, I was unable to renew my domain subscription for only 4 days. When they gladly accepted my renewal fee with added "reinstatement fees" they told me it would be up and running in 12 to 24 hrs (which is unacceptable) and I was told in most cases it will be up and running before I ended my call. Yes, my email came back up and running but not the web site. The following day I literally spent over 7 hrs. on the phone, most of it on hold, then magically, while my voice became very heated and demanding to speak with a supervisor for the 3rd time the site came back up. So I stayed on the phone to be connected with a super to express my dissatisfaction and instead, I got connected to an automated voice survey. Unbelievable! Needless to say I replied "Strongly Disagree" to all the questions. Not that I think it will matter to them. So I called back yet again, another 30 min hold for a Supervisor and was told that I was "LUCKY", yes you heard right, I was Lucky that the site came back up so quickly. Wow! REALLY? 24 hrs later and entire days work lost waiting on hold. So I'm jumping ship at the end of my renewal period. I would do it now, but from reading other reviews they wont give a refund. ADIOS to a horrible web service provider.

Web.com is a scam

I called Register.com to renew my hobby website domain. They offered me a no obligation discount on my domain renewal to take a look at something called Ignight. I then received a bill from both Register.com and Ignight for services. I cancelled Ignight the first time a salesperson tried to interview me about my business because Idont own a business. The claims depot at Ignight (Web.com). When I called the claims dept they pretend to review it and then said I had to pay $99.95 for "services" to market a business that does not exist. Customer service leaves you on hold for long periods and then tells you to email the claims department. This is a complete scam operation.

Web.com and register.com took my website down for no reason and doesn't fix it for 3 months!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I had bought a domain at web.com and had a hard time having any decent customer support. Changed it to my hostgator's hosting account though a DNS servers migration. Suddenly, out of nowhere I get an email saying my account is past overdue and my website will be shut down. I paid for my domain up until october 2016! Somehow they commited a mistake (which they admitted in the third week of multiple 30-40 min calls w/o any tangible answer) and had my account in a wrong folder, believing it was unpaid. After admitting it and promising to get it back online in the next 24h... Here I am, a month from then (and 3 months after the unfair error that have lead to ruining my business) and still w/o any help or site on air. I tried again multiple calls at register.com (that somehow is the same co and now has my domain) and they still can't find or fix the problem. They've put my website in a redemption state out of nowhere and said it costs 200 USD to take it back to normal! Not to mention I probably lost all the work expensively made by webdesigners into my website... I probably lost my whole business due to this irresponsible and neglectful act from register.com and web.com, whoever of these mediocre companies, which never answer an email, never keep track of customers' calls and doesn't create tickets. Don't go cheap and buy domain from these companies! You'll be left alone with no support and probably will lose your business like me...

Deceptive Billing - Be Warned.

Register.com's renewal process is deceptive. As usual they will try and tack on services such as Automatic Domain renewal, privacy etc. If you uncheck these options and proceed to the next step you are not provided with a summary of the charges, only a submit button. Once the payment is submitted you are billed for all options, even if you de-selected them. In addition Register.com has some of the highest renewal fees in the industry. Do not use this company for Domain registration. Also be aware that they are now owned by Web.com, also a terrible company.

Rip Off - Dishonest

Register.com charged us for an extra year ONLY because they had delayed the transfer of a domain past the renewal date. After every one of 4 phone calls, they assured us that they would refund the $48.00 in fees for that extra year we didn't need. Now more than 2 months later, they still haven't refunded the money that promised they would after every one of 4 phone calls to them. It's just the same old game of stall, stall, stall and see if they will go away. In the end, if I ever do get my money back, it'll have cost me way more than $48 in my time. There are plenty of other inexpensive Registrars out there. I'm not here to promote them. I'm just warning you about these guys. They just want your money and they don't care if they give you anything in return.

Email service cancelled without warning

If you are thinking about using Register.com as a web host, including email, don't do it! We have used Register.com for years, and all of a sudden our email account goes down, when you call them for assistance the hold time is about 45 minutes. They told me they phased out free email, so that is why our email was shut down. It would have been nice to at least get some sort of warning they were doing this, and an option to pay the new fee. Our customers are calling asking if we are still in business because their emails are being returned with fatal error msg. Extremely disappointed in this company!
